Description:
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable/Receivable Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. The successful candidate ensures that the department meets all financial deadlines and provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Duties
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable department, including supervising the AP clerk, managing workflows, and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments
- Prepare weekly vendor and subcontractor payment files
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow-up on delinquent payments
- Post customer payments by recording cash, EFT and e-transfer transactions
- Issue invoices and credit notes to customers as requested
- Ensure that financial deadlines are met and that customer service is provided to all internal stakeholders
- Monitor AP and AR accounts and ensure that any discrepancies are identified and resolved
- Assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5+ years of work experience in accounts payable/receivable or related role
- Experience working with multiple currencies
- Familiarity with banking processes and systems
- Strong analytical computer skills to interpret financial data accurately
- Strong attention to details and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Familiarity with various accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Accounting designation (CPA) a plus
- Knowledge of RBC and HSBC banking platforms
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
