Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in Burlingame, California. The role is within the financial industry, and the chosen candidate will be part of our administrative team. The primary job function will be to ensure the accurate and timely processing of invoices, reconciliation of discrepancies, and maintaining positive vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and accurately process vendor invoices
- Ensure all invoices are correctly coded and approved for payment
- Align invoices with corresponding purchase orders and receiving documents to confirm proper authorization and receipt of goods or services
- Investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, or payments
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflow and resolve payment-related issues
- Maintain meticulous records of accounts payable transactions
- Respond professionally and promptly to vendor inquiries
- Verify the accuracy of invoices and reconcile any discrepancies
- Assist with check runs or electronic payments as directed by the Accounting Manager
- Maintain adherence to company policies and procedures as well as accounting regulations and best practices
- Participate in special projects or other duties as assigned by management.
- Possess a minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar
- Proficient in account reconciliation and accounts payable (AP)
- Familiar with check runs and coding invoices
- Strong data entry skills are essential
- Experience in invoice processing is required
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks software
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines.
