Description:

We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Lincoln, California. This role primarily focuses on managing and processing customer transactions and maintaining accurate records. It’s a short term contract employment opportunity that requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing positive relationships with vendors, external organizations, and other school personnel.
  • Handling customer inquiries and providing accurate information.
  • Managing the pre-approval process of purchase orders and applying the appropriate accounting codes.
  • Maintaining an updated record of all vendor contacts in the database.
  • Processing vendor approval requests and ensuring accuracy in all transactions.
  • Managing the distribution of mail within the organization.
  • Calculating taxes for purchase order invoices and posting them to the journal.
  • Operating office equipment like copy machines and fax machines as required.
  • Keeping accurate records of all financial-related documents and transactions.
  • Processing payments to vendors through the accounting system.
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Experience with Check Runs and Coding Invoices
  • Strong Data Entry skills
  • Familiarity with Invoice Processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Oracle software
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and SAP
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks Online
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to process large amounts of numerical data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and professional ethics
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures.
