Description:
Robert Half is partnering with an Oil & Gas client in the downtown Denver area, parking paid for, on an Accounts Payable Clerk opening. The Accounts Payable Clerk will report to the Controller of the organization and work on a small accounting team.
Responsibilities:
Process and review a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently using OpenInvoice software.
Match purchase orders, contracts, and delivery receipts to corresponding invoices and verify proper approvals.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure timely payments to vendors.
Perform 3-way matching of invoices, including verification of quantities, pricing, and approvals.
Maintain and update vendor records, ensuring proper documentation is in place and data integrity is maintained.
Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and handle inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders.
Collaborate with procurement, operations, and finance teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure compliance with company policies.
Prepare weekly, monthly, and ad hoc accounts payable reports for management.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable.
Stay updated on industry trends, particularly in oil & gas accounting practices and regulatory requirements.
Support continuous process improvement initiatives to streamline AP processes and enhance system efficiency.
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounts payable experience, with a strong preference for candidates with OpenInvoice software experience.
Prior experience in the oil & gas industry or related sectors is a plus.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, AP processes, and vendor management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
