Description:

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist based in Richmond, Virginia. The role is primarily focused on handling a high volume of invoice processing and filing within the accounts payable function, utilizing EDI for electronic invoice filing. The role will be vital in maintaining an organized and efficient filing system for the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the processing of over 200 invoices daily, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Utilize EDI for the electronic filing of invoices
  • Transfer invoices to the appropriate filing system in a timely manner
  • Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Data Entry, and Microsoft Excel to effectively perform job duties
  • Verify invoices and purchase orders to maintain accurate records
  • Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action when required
  • Resolve customer inquiries related to accounts payable and invoices
  • Maintain a high level of organization to handle the high volume of invoices
  • Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with company procedures and standards.
  • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations
  • Strong skills in Data Entry
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in verifying invoices for accuracy
  • Familiarity with handling Purchase Orders
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
  • Proficiency in other accounting software will be considered an asset
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
