Description:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Eugene, Oregon. This role involves managing the accounts payable function in a government setting. The position offers a long-term contract employment opportunity, providing coverage during an employee’s leave of absence.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable transactions and ensure accurate processing.
- Apply knowledge of governmental accounting principles to ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Handle account coding tasks to accurately categorize financial transactions.
- Operate Automated Clearing House (ACH) systems for electronic money transfer.
- Use Microsoft Excel for data management and financial reporting.
- Resolve customer inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
- Maintain accurate customer credit records.
- Proficiency in Account Coding and Accounts Payable (AP)
- Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
- Familiarity with Tyler Technologies Munis software
- Knowledge of Governmental accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- Prior experience in a similar role (preferred)
