Accounts Payable Specialist

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in EDGEWATER, Maryland. The selected candidate will be part of a team handling accounts payable functions in a dynamic work environment. This role involves using various accounting software systems and requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite.

• Utilize accounting software systems to process customer credit applications in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Oversee the creation and storage of vendor bills, ensuring the process is streamlined and adheres to company policies.
• Play a crucial role in moving bills forward by reviewing account coding and making necessary adjustments.
• Maintain an effective system for accurate customer credit records, updating them as needed.
• Stay on top of customer accounts, monitoring them regularly and taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Ensure all bills are kept moving and vendors are paid on time, contributing to smooth financial operations.
• Handle data entry tasks and resolve any discrepancies that arise in the process.
• Utilize Excel formulas for complex calculations and data analysis related to accounts payable.
• Manage check processing ensuring all transactions are completed accurately and on time.
• Address customer inquiries, providing them with timely and accurate information.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or a similar position
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Skilled in using Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas
• Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Experience in Check Processing is necessary
• Should be adept at Data Entry tasks
• Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancy issues is needed
• Knowledge of NetSuite software is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy are necessary
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team is required
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred.
