Description:

We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to work in Lincoln, Rhode Island. In this role, the primary function is to oversee the accounts payable operations. This includes maintaining accurate records, processing invoices, and resolving any vendor-related issues that may arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process accounts payable invoices, ensuring they match with purchase orders and receipts
  • Coordinate and process weekly A/P check runs, along with payments via ACH or wire transfer
  • Address vendor discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Assign proper G/L accounts to invoices and expense reports with due dates
  • Obtain necessary approval and post invoices into the A/P system
  • Maintain all A/P files, attaching required documentation to invoices
  • Complete credit/reference information for new suppliers
  • Keep A/P payment terms in the system updated
  • Coordinate the month-end closing process for A/P
  • Update and standardize documentation for all A/P processes
  • Perform other accounting duties as requested and assist in special projects as needed
  • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Familiarity with Check Runs
  • Ability to perform Coding Invoices
  • Strong Data Entry skills
  • Prior experience in Invoice Processing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Oracle
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Experience with MS Great Plains Dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required.
