Description:
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Kenosha, Wisconsin. As part of our team in the real estate industry, your primary role will be to support our accounts payable operations. This role is based in our Kenosha office and requires on-site attendance.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately and efficiently process invoices, focusing especially on those requiring dual payee checks.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of accounts payable.
- Regularly reconcile accounts payable to maintain accurate records.
- Set up vendors, maintain W-9s, and ensure payment details are current and accurate.
- Ensure all payments adhere to company policies and real estate regulations.
- Assist with tasks related to the monthly close of accounts payable.
- Use RealPage and Appfolio software programs for various accounting functions.
- Handle inquiries from vendors and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Support the accounts payable manager with year-end needs and backlog.
- Report directly to the controller and collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or similar role
- Proficient in accounting functions and account coding
- Demonstrated expertise in handling accounts payable (AP)
- Previous experience with approved invoices and check runs
- Knowledge of RealPage and AppFolio software is an asset
- Familiarity with real estate accounting is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
