  • Excellent opportunity to gain experience in an Accounts Payable team and as part of Parliament of Victoria’s broader Finance, Risk and Payroll team.
  • Casual employment for approximately two months across July/August/September
  • Flexible hours available to accommodate university commitments (ideally working some hours across 5 days, Monday – Friday)

About the role
Our Accounts Payable team is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Support Officer on a casual basis for a two-month period. Under the supervision of the Team Leader, Accounts Payable, this role will work as part of team to assist the processing of invoices and expense claims in a timely and efficient manner.
We are invested in supporting your learning and offer exposure to the broader Finance, Risk & Payroll team, and Parliament of Victoria.

You have recently completed or nearing completion of a qualification in Accounting, Business, or Commerce and may have some experience or knowledge in the use of financial management systems and MS Office programs, in addition to:

  • Attention to detail and a desire to analyse and problem solve.
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills to work with others in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work well towards timeframes, having excellent organisation skills

Responsibilities:

  • Support accurate and timely end-to-end processing of all invoices and expense claims for the Parliament of Victoria, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and that supplier payment runs are completed weekly.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records in the Financial Management System, including the supporting the administration of new and existing suppliers.
  • Understand concepts such as GST and FBT compliance and accounting and budget matters when entering data, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
