Description:

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Clerk in Providence, Rhode Island. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing financial transactions, processing accounts, and maintaining customer records in an efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle daily financial operations, including classifying, calculating, posting, and recording accounts receivable data.
  • Regularly process accounts and incoming payments in adherence to financial policies and procedures.
  • Generate detailed reports on accounts receivable collections and their status for review.
  • Efficiently process customer credit applications and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare and execute billing within software and customer systems in a precise and timely manner.
  • Investigate payment shortages and work towards resolving clients’ billing issues.
  • Consistently reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are properly posted and accounted for.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and interacting with clients.
  • Assist in confirming shipments prior to billing.
  • Offer general accounting support and analysis as required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in Account Reconciliation
  • Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Proficient in Billing procedures
  • Familiar with Cash Applications
  • Experience in Cash Collections
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with accounting software is a plus.
