Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in the retail industry based in Manhattan Beach, California. In this role, you will use your expertise in accounting software systems and accounts receivable functions to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications and maintaining customer credit records. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications using Great Plains (GPAC) and IBM AS/400 systems.
• Maintain and update customer credit records in the accounting software systems.
• Use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suites to create reports and present data related to accounts receivable.
• Handle customer inquiries related to their credit applications and accounts.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions based on their credit status.
• Perform billing functions and process checks, ensuring cash activity is recorded accurately.
• Work closely with other departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to accounts receivable.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations related to accounts receivable.
• Continually review and improve processes related to customer credit applications and accounts receivable.
• Collaborate with the team to meet and exceed overall retail industry standards.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) software
• Knowledge of IBM AS/400
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Billing Functions
• Experience with Cash Activity
• Proficiency in Check Processing
• Retail industry experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
