To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for an Active Communities and Sport Inclusion Manager to join our team on our most prestigious leisure contract, Sport England National Centres.
Sport England contract consists of two National Sports Centre at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre and Lilleshall National Sports Centre. These facilities are two of the UK’s National Sports Centres, providing world-class sporting facilities for individuals, the local community and some of the country’s leading sportsmen and women and a proud UK Sport Accredited Elite Training Centre.
As Active Communities and Sport Inclusion Manager your role will be to deliver the strategic outputs of Sport England’s wider strategy of ‘uniting the movement’ across the two National Sports Centres. The objectives of the role are to open up the doors of the National Centres to the wider communities to encourage physical activity as a tool to increase the health and quality of life of the local communities which they are located. This will be through direct programmes and key strategic relationships with active partnerships, public health and other key strategic partners.

Responsibilities:

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Own and deliver the contractual KPI outputs and bring the Sport England strategy to life on the facilities.
KPI and reporting in relevant formats in a professional and timely manner.
Build extensive knowledge in the Sport England strategy and Sport/Active Communities landscape.
Build relationships and work in partnership with all stakeholders to ensure that the strategic objectives of Sport England and Serco Leisure are achieved.
Ensure all aspects of the business are effectively managed to provide high quality standards of service to customers.
Adopt a pro-active approach to the development of the contract ensuring continuous improvement.
Produce a business plan and strategy for the contract and ensure these are monitored and updated as required, taking appropriate action if targets are not met.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO DO THE ROLE:

A strong understanding of the leisure landscape and the movement of the Sport England strategy towards a health solution through physical activity. This experience should have a knowledge of the external funding landscape to understand the opportunities for the contract to maximise the external support to increase the health of the population.
Experience in a Senior Active Communities or Sport Development role with evidence of delivering a strategy to increase participation in sport and physical activity.
Ability to take a strategic approach to business and stakeholder management.
Commercial awareness and an operational understanding within the leisure sector.
Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and be able and willing to travel between sites. The role is based 5 days a week on contract at either Lilleshall or Bisham Abbey National Sport Centre.
The role has an expectation to travel to company meetings and conferences at other venues, sometimes with a requirement for overnight stays.
