Description:

To liaise with the Sister in Charge of the activities programme in order to deliver and maintain a quality level of activities for Residents of the Home including residents of the care floor and flats.
Assess the need and capabilities of individual residents and plan appropriate person centred activities. Be active and innovative in planning and preparing the activities. Be reliable but adaptable to change.
· Arrange the daily activities for the Residents who wish to participate.
· Advertise activities in the Home. Prepare notice boards and posters. Make displays. Update & manage interactive TV in reception area (google slides).
· Keep records of attendance and progress reports of residents who participate in the activities in relation to SSSC social care standards.
· Liaise with Nursing staff and Care team members for activities involving physically frail residents, and those with mild to moderate dementia.
· Ensure that all materials used are cleared away and that the area is left in good order.
· Participate in any training available in order to enhance the quality of the activities offered to the resident.
· Assist in accompanying and transferring residents to and from their units to areas of activities.
· Help serve the midday meal in the main dining room as required. Assist in serving refreshments at breaks in activities.
· Accompany the driver in the mini bus as and when required.
· Such other duties as may be reasonable asked in order to fulfil this post. Possible examples are fundraising activities and also being available for other social functions if necessary.
· Previous experience working within Social Care, and dementia related residents would be an advantage.
· SSSC registration preferred
· Safeguarding training
· Experience of events planning
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
