REQUIREMENTS

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
  • One or more of the following:
  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Heart Saver AED obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management OR Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required, with 2 of those years being in leadership/management.

Responsibilities:

Direct the development and implementation of policies, procedures and strategies for the activities function.

  • Develop departmental goals, plans and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
  • Plan, organize and direct all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
  • Prepare departmental budgets and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and directs internal/external audits.
  • Direct and evaluate all services provided, including care plan development, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
  • Assure resident safety by identifying safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
