QUALIFICATIONS:
- Qualified Diversional Therapist or current student studying Diversional Therapy (preferred).
- Experience working with individuals with dementia (preferred but not essential).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Creative and empathetic approach to developing activities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and creative Activities and Lifestyle Coordinator to join our Special Care Unit. This is a Part Time position working Friday and Saturday 0930 am to 1800 pm.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diversional therapy, with a preference given to those who are qualified Diversional Therapists or students currently studying Diversional Therapy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement engaging and therapeutic activities tailored to the needs of our residents.
- Foster a stimulating and supportive environment that promotes social interaction and emotional well-being.
- Work collaboratively with the care team to assess and monitor residents’ individual needs and preferences.
- Encourage participation in activities that enhance cognitive, physical, and emotional health.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and residents’ progress.
