Description:
We are delighted to advertise the opportunity for an enthusiastic Activity Co-ordinator to join our innovate team on the Adult Acute Inpatient wards at the Redwoods Centre.
The successful candidate will obtain a permanent position on Pine ward, and integrate themselves into the nursing team alongside their Allied Health Professional (AHP) colleagues.
As a band 2 Activity Co-ordinator, you’ll be passionate about enabling adults with Mental Health difficulties to engage in activities on our in-patient wards, forming part of their recovery. If you’re motivated to work in Mental Health services, creative, flexible and can work autonomously, we would love for you to apply!
MPFT is a learning organisation, and we’re passionate about developing and ‘growing our own’! On a more local level, we are an incredibly supportive team and offer monthly 1:1 supervision, 6 weekly activity co-ordinator meetings, and 6 weekly peer support sessions.
On Pine ward you will be joined by a team of very well established Activity Co-ordinators across the acute wards, and your rota will alternate days and cover weekends.
Band 2 Activity Co-ordinator
Pay Scale: Band 2
Working hours: 37.5hrs per week (flexible hours required over evenings and weekends)
The Redwoods Centre - Adult Acute Inpatients
The role focuses on providing activity based engagements along with effective team working. You will co-ordinate and provide group sessions and one to one engagements on a daily basis, which are predominantly ward based but with scope to facilitate group outings. You will be working with the multidisciplinary team, additional service providers (such as Arts4Health) and with carers/families to provide an effective patient centred service.
On Pine ward you will be joined by a well established Activity Co-ordinator, meaning your rota will alternate days and cover weekends. As standard, this post also offers a comprehensive induction period.
This post will therefore offer you the opportunity to develop your tangible and intangible skills in the inpatient mental health setting within a supportive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) in order to support patients through the acute phase of their mental illness.
