We are seeking a dynamic and creative Activity Coordinator to monitor, plan and oversee a range of recreational, social, and educational activities for the people we support and our community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating engaging experiences, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people. This role is crucial in fostering a vibrant and inclusive community atmosphere, ensuring that all participants have meaningful and enjoyable experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a diverse range of activities, including recreational, cultural, educational, and social events into the people we support lifestyle.
  • Collaborate with the people we support, families, loved ones and service managers to identify interests and tailor activities to meet their needs and preferences.
  • Develop seasonal and annual activity calendars and schedules.
  • Organise and oversee events from start to finish, including logistics, risk assessment, budgeting, staffing, and post-event evaluation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, entertainers, and other external partners to enhance activity offerings.
  • Ensure all events and activities comply with safety and accessibility standards.
  • Promote activities through various communication channels, including newsletters, liaising with social media, and networking within the community.
  • Gather feedback from participants to continually improve and adapt the community offerings.
  • Work closely with other departments, such as wellbeing, the core care teams, and support staff to ensure activities/goals and aspirations are being met.
  • Train and supervise volunteers or part-time staff assisting with activities.
  • To assist with supporting staff members with implementing activities and wellbeing initiatives within the service.
