ABOUT US: This is a rare opportunity to join a small, friendly team of high quality teachers and educators as an Activity Group Leader, in a community, not for profit kindergarten with an outstanding reputation. We are seeking a creative, capable, responsible and enthusiastic educator to join our small team on Elwood Beach in 2025. The Activity Group Leader role provides scope for an experienced Diploma-qualified Educator or ECT to take their skills and creativity to the next level in designing and implementing programs for children in our Friday Care/Holiday Program offerings, as well as being a critical lead educator in our Extended Hours Kindergarten program. ABOUT THE ROLE: The Activity Group Leader will have responsibility for planning and implementing: -The daily Before/After Care Program on rotation, (wrapped around our kindergarten program for children in our four year old extended hours kindergarten program) -Holiday Programs during the three term breaks (we close at the end of term four and reopen in term one). This program is available to enrolled children and their siblings, aged 3-7 years of age. -Our Friday Occasional Care Program (this is a program for our sessional three and four year old children). This role has great scope for someone to: -develop their leadership skills in a friendly, professional and supported environment -work alongside experienced teachers and learn on the job -be mentored by a dedicated and inspiring Educational Leader -develop programming skills as part of our team planning approach -put their own stamp on the programs and be creative As well as planning and implementing the program, the Activity Group Leader will have responsibility for: -Opening/Closing the kindergarten (on rotating shifts), alongside another educator, at each end of the day -Acting as the responsible person in the absence of the Leadership Team -Leading and directing other educators within the programs -Contributing to team planning for the kindergarten program -Helping implement our Coastal Curriculum program ABOUT YOU: (Highly desirable) -Previously worked in a service rated as exceeding in a leadership position, ideally a community kindergarten -Experience with outdoor, play-based learning programs and engagement of children in nature -Experience in developing engaging programs and environments to inspire and extend children’s development - Proven ability to form collaborative and respectful connections with children, families, staff and community. - Availability/flexibility to work in term breaks and at each end of our operating day (7.30-6.00) with rotating opening/closing shifts This role has traditionally appealed to educators wanting to gain experience in a stand alone kindergarten before stepping into a teaching role. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Diploma in Children’s Services qualification, but ECT qualification/experience highly desirable.

• Either Diploma or ECT qualification • Current Working With Children Check and Police Check • Child Protection/Mandatory Reporting Module certificate • Current First Aid Certificate; Asthma, Anaphylaxis, CPR training • Sound knowledge of education frameworks

Full time role within our operating hours (7.30 am to 6.00 pm)
