Description:

Emerald Cultural Institute provide a transformative educational and cultural experience within a positive, nurturing environment where both students and staff can grow and prepare to meet their personal and professional goals.
We are currently recruiting for Activity Leaders to work in our busy summer centres from the middle of June to the middle of August. We operate campuses across the City Centre, Rathgar and Stillorgan areas.
Responsible For : Injecting life into the Activities Programme, providing an experience which is stimulating and culturally enriching for students, supervising the students outside the classroom, and overseeing their health and safety and discipline at all times.
Reporting To : Activity Coordinator

Responsibilities:

Being present for the Mandatory training day to learn about the role and activities we have on offer.
Welcoming students on the first day with orientation around the site, checking into rooms, and providing initial ‘getting to know you’ entertainment as directed by the Activity Coordinator.
Monitoring the health and safety, welfare and discipline of students, anticipating discrimination, bullying, and damage.
Monitoring the whereabouts of students through roll calls at meetings, lunchtime and in the evenings.
Development of game plans for all in school and evening activities. Ensuring they are prepared for all the activities that they are running.
Attending staff meetings/admin slots for briefings, activity preparation, liaising with the academic team and training (on a rota basis).
Leading the activity or excursion for a group of students at pre-arranged times over six days each week.
Ensuring they are knowledgeable of the trips and excursions and guides the students in a fun positive way around the different activities.
Encouraging full and enthusiastic involvement by students in the scheduled Activity and Excursion Programme, leading by example.
Completing attendance records of students as required and reports on non-attendance or ill-discipline.
Co-operating with the Activity Coordinator and on occasions with agents and accreditation inspectors, in the observation and evaluation of activities.
Any other duties as requested.

Essential Criteria
Recognised Leisure qualification e.g. specialist coaching qualification, First Aid.
Experience working with teenagers in a residential environment at summer camps or activity programmes.
Must be legally entitled to work in Ireland.
Must have Garda Vetting Certification.
Fluent in communicative and written English.
Enthusiastic with high energy and be able to motivate students.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Must be a Team Player with a ‘can do attitude’.
Must have completed all Online Training Modules.
Must attend the All Staff Training Day.
Must complete Tusla Child Protection Training.
Must be available to work July 2024.
Must be able to able to commute to City Centre, Rathgar and Stillorgan.
The salary for this position will depend on experience.
