Based in our Toronto, ON office, the successful candidate will work under supervision of the Retirement Consulting Department, in providing actuarial and administration support for clients with Defined Benefit pension plans. As an analyst you will be working alongside consultants and analysts as we assist clients with a wide range of retirement consulting services.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare data reconciliations, benefit calculations, asset summaries and contribution requirement summaries and with other pension plan administration tasks.
  • Prepare annual pension statements for plan members.
  • Assist in the preparation of actuarial valuations for both funding and accounting purposes for pension plans.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings.
  • Receive and respond to routine plan enquiries and requests.
  • Support the relationship between clients and other members of the consulting team.
  • Take direction from, and support, senior team members.
  • Attend internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks, as required.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a university degree in actuarial science, mathematics or other related field
  • Progress in the actuarial exams is preferred.
  • Combination of excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate strong work ethic and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong professional acumen
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Dedicated team player, who demonstrates initiative and self-management.
  • A good understanding of the Microsoft Suite of tools, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
