Actuarial Analyst

Position Overview
Reporting to Manager, Corporate Actuarial, the incumbent will be based in Kuala Lumpur to remotely support the Hong Kong Valuation team (based in Hong Kong) on Actuarial Data process enhancements and other initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transitioning the existing Actuarial Data Process to an Alteryx-based workflow for generating Prophet Model Point Data.
• Facilitate the establishment of a new process for managing actuarial assumption data.
• Support implementation of new premium data management process for actuarial calculations.
• Provide support in the preparation and submission of data required for statutory filings in accordance with the Hong Kong Insurance Ordinance.
• Perform valuation work and ad-hoc department projects for the Hong Kong Valuation team as needed and called upon – e.g. other process improvement, support to other BAU activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, finance, data science or related fields
• 0-2 years’ working experience in life insurance / reinsurance companies
• Computer savvy and a strong knowledge in SQL, Excel and VBA. Prophet and Alteryx knowledge is a plus
• Strong analytical, data management skills, attention to details and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong critical thinking and solutions focused with excellent communication skill in English (both written and verbal)
• A highly motivated and conceptual thinker who is able to collaborate in a team environment or work independently and take an active role in a wide variety of assignments
