Description:

Insights & Analytics have an interesting opportunity for a Model Developer to join the GMPE delivery team. To be successful in this role you will need to have a working knowledge of GMPE calculations, an aptitude for software development and want to further your career in this direction.
This role is also likely to bring opportunities to be a subject matter expert on models, owning modelling approaches and to contribute to team learning and development.

You will:

  • Build and maintain software providing asset allocations, manager monitoring and retirement solutions.
  • Help the development team understand the requirements of complex financial calculations.
  • Build an understanding of system design and risk issues relevant to existing financial models.
  • Work alongside high-performing, multi-disciplinary teams (comprising of developers, delivery leads, testers and actuaries.)

About You

In order to succeed in, and enjoy this role, you are likely to have experience with:

  • Actuarial calculations, in particular working on Defined Benefit pension schemes
  • Test-driven development.
  • Object-oriented development patterns and approaches (primarily in delivering C# .NET solutions).
  • Microsoft development stack including ASP.NET & ASP.NET Core and/or Functional programming experience (F# optional).

You will likely be:

  • Focused on continuous learning and improvement.
  • An effective communicator and a great team player.
  • Able to effectively articulate actuarial concepts with team members/stakeholders from a non-actuarial background.
  • Confident across the software development lifecycle.
