Working with financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities, retailers and other corporations of various sizes, the Actuarial Services consulting practice provides economic and financial value optimization for clients and their customers through the use of risk management and insurance techniques. The group provides strategic support to their clients, and consistently strives to find innovative solutions.
The Actuarial Services consulting practice is seeking an actuarial candidate to join a group of non-traditional consultants as Associate, to support client needs and the overall growth of the practice.
Responsibilities:
Core Actuarial Functions (70%)
- Reviewing financial/accounting statements
- C onducting statutory actuarial liability valuations
- Drafting valuation letters and reports
- Gathering and reconciling client data, update and run stochastic models
- Performing data analytics tasks in SQL, MS-Access and/or analytics tools
Supporting non-traditional actuarial valuationsPerforming actuarial model governance and controls tasks/reviews
Client Consulting Support (10%)
- Developing forecasts and business cases
Preparing client letters and presentationsMaintaining and analyzing client databases
Market Research & New Business Support (10%)
- Performing market research and assisting with development of new business
Developing industry and insurance product benchmarking reportsAttending meetings with potential new clients, as needed
Administration (10%)
Maintaining billable hoursMaintaining appropriate documentation of work
