About the role
AIG Europe S.A. (Ireland Branch) is hiring an Actuarial Analyst to support pricing analyses and performance monitoring of its Ireland personal lines insurance business. The successful candidate will work in the Motor and Property team in the AIG Dublin IFSC office and work closely with qualified actuaries and colleagues in Finance, Marketing, Underwriting, Claims and Data Science in Dublin, London and New York. You’ll get in depth knowledge of typical actuarial roles in General Insurance and work with market leading telematics technology.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Develop enhanced reporting to analyse portfolio performance split by segments and present findings into pricing and underwriting forum
Suggest, implement and test rate changes on commercial and consumer products.
Build and refresh actuarial models such as Generalised Linear Models
Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Marketing, and IT to ensure data used for pricing and monitoring is complete, accurate and adequate
Improve existing data processes and automation
Produce premium adequacy reports using relevant profitability metrics
Develop new rating structures for new products to launch
Deliver data enrichment initiatives by integrating external data into internal data sources
Support ad hoc requests from business leaders across all departments

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Minimum 2:1 Degree in an actuarial, mathematical or an equivalent degree with a strong mathematical element
Prior pricing experience preferred but not essential
Strong initiative in applying problem solving and analytical skills
Competency in Excel, VBA, SQL, R, Python, Power Point
Skills with pricing software such as Emblem or Radar preferred but not essential
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and work well as part of a team
