Description:

In the Furniture Project, we have to occasionally pick up donations in the Copenhagen area. Møbelhjælp helps homeless people with furniture and home furnishings when they move into their own home.
At WeShelter, we are currently looking for volunteer drivers who can help collect furniture and pass it on to homeless people who are moving into their own home.
Ad Hoc voluntary means you will be contacted by email when we need help collecting donations in the Copenhagen area. The tasks are sent out with a time and date and you can sign up if you have the opportunity to help with the specific task. WeShelter has a car available to pick up furniture, home furnishings and clothing.
You will be part of a small team of volunteers who are passionate about transforming the new home into a safe, livable and comfortable home.
Our transportation team is responsible for picking up furniture donated by WeShelter and bringing it to our furniture warehouse. When one of our residents in the hostel is allocated a home, we help them move the furniture they have selected from our furniture warehouse.
The effort takes place at WeShelter’s two hostels, Kollegiet Gl. Køge Landevej in Valby and the youth hostel Sporsløjfen on Østerbro.
Then you are firmly behind a wheel, fresh from lifting a sofa, and want to give people the best start to the next chapter in their lives, then we would very much like to hear from you .
Send us an application via the ‘Contact the organisation’ form. Write a little about yourself and your experiences and not least your motivation for being a volunteer on WeShelter’s furniture project.
If you have any questions about the role of volunteer in our furniture project, you are welcome to contact our furniture coordinator: https://weshelter.dk/kontakt/

a community with other committed volunteers and ongoing sparring on your voluntary work - we always support you as a volunteer in WeShelter.
documentation for your voluntary work.
About the furniture project
In the fight against homelessness, housing is essential, but a home is much more than a roof over your head. A home must provide warmth, peace and security, and it must be a place where there is room to have a social life.
For homeless people, moving into their own home is an opportunity for a new start. Many residents of hostels, however, have only a few pieces of furniture and very little household equipment when they have to break with homelessness and move into permanent housing. WeShelter has therefore started this project to collect furniture from Copenhageners and pass it on to the homeless - and you can join in!
About WeShelter
WeShelter is an ambitious community of collaborative social services, which consists of a number of homeless shelters and social psychiatric shelters in Copenhagen.
WeShelter’s core task is to create space and provide shelter (Shelter) for society’s most vulnerable people. We strive to achieve this task together and in collaboration (We).
