Description:
Your Opportunity:
Addiction & Mental Health Supported Housing (AMH Supported Housing) is a fast paced and growing area within the AMH portfolio. We currently partner with several agencies in the Edmonton Zone to provide a broad range of clinical services to the clients who reside in both our transitional and long-term housing sites. We recognize housing as a key Social Determinant of Health and we work from a recovery-oriented system of care. Our teams are passionate in providing service to the AMH population who have a history of houselessness or are at high risk of losing their housing. The AMH Principles of Care are at the core of the work we do and our work is anchored in the AHS Cares values, and we strive to maintain a strong team, supporting each other in both wellness and continued professional development. This position works with the Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) clinical team. The RHI is a partnership with Homeward Trust, City of Edmonton and AMH to provide housing and support services to Edmonton’s vulnerable population. The AMH team provides clinical support from an addiction and mental health lens to both the staff and residents of each building. This can look like both consultative and case management type work. The Addiction Counsellor will foster engagement, assess motivation, identify needs, and collaboratively develop a recovery plan. They will support the implementation of the client’s recovery plan in close consultation with both the RHI team and agency staff members. The Addiction Counsellor will also provide group and individual services and develop, implement and evaluate programs as needed. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. By applying on this posting, if you are the successful candidate, you agree to and will become an employee of Recovery Alberta.
