Description:
Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Paralegal Studies Instructor position in the Business and Public Service Technologies (BPST) Division. This position is part-time and located on Atlanta Tech’s Main Campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Under general supervision, provide instruction to students in the Paralegal Studies Program.
- Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques.
- Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping required.
- Completes all reports and records in a timely manner and maintain an accurate inventory of all assigned properties.
- Demonstrates the effective use of oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current procedures in the Paralegal Studies field.
- Follow approved course syllabus.
- Responsible for teaching and monitoring students.
- Monitors students’ use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Advises and counsels students regarding course requirements.
- Maintain appropriate advisement records on each student.
- Assists with student recruitment and job placement as directed by division dean.
- Serves on committees as directed and coordinated by division dean.
- Attend meetings as required and appropriate.
- Observes and enforces the institution’s policies and regulations.
- Maintains qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College system of Georgia’s Policy Manual.
- Follows rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia’s Policy Manual and other policies and procedures established by the institution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Instructors must hold a graduate-level degree or higher and have experience working as or with paralegals, in the public or private sector.
- Attorney instructors must be graduates of accredited law schools and members of the Bar in good standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have flexibility to teach evening and weekend classes in person.
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- In addition to Minimum Qualifications, a Cosmetology Instructor License with experience is preferred.
