Title: Payroll Administrator
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Location: Montréal, Qc (South shore)
Position Description
Payroll Administrator to maintain employee data and payroll processing in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain HR/Payroll data for union employees in Quebec, in Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Data entry for personal transactions such as terminations, leaves of absence, new hires, etc.
  • Calculate and prepare CNESST payments in accordance with the legislation.
  • Calculate and prepare vacation payments.
  • Calculate misc payments according to collective agreement, company policies and/or Labor Standards
  • Time and attendance entries
  • Changes to schedules submitted by operations
  • Entry and/or verification of vacation and other time off
  • Validation of approved timesheet hours and advise accordingly.
  • Data validation and cleansing
  • Ensures data integrity within the payroll system.
  • Assists with auditing payroll activities to assess compliance with practices, policies, procedures, processes, collective agreements, and legislative requirements.
  • Union remittances
  • KPI Matrix
  • Garnishment Remittances
  • Investments remittances
  • Service Canada Requests
  • Develop and Provide Reports

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in a complex multi-unionized environment, full-cycle payroll experience.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP)
  • Fully bilingual English and French
  • Ceridian Dayforce experience is highly preferred.
  • Extensive union experience is a must.
  • Hands on experience with payroll and time & attendance system
  • High degree of problem-solving skills and resourcefulness to resolve complex issues.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Detail-orientation with an ability to communicate and identify problems.
  • Highly organized with good time management (ability to work under pressure and meet strict guidelines, deadlines, etc.)
  • Client relationship building and communication abilities.
  • Building collaborative working relationships within the department and across the organization.
  • Customer service skills include effectively and efficiently responding to employee inquiries.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
