Grosvenor Hart Homes is a new social enterprise on a mission to improve the life chances of vulnerable children, young people and their families.

This is a unique opportunity to work with a small number of people in an impactful way. You will be somebody with the ability to form excellent relationships with our tenants and partners to develop and drive forward plans to help our tenants to achieve their ambitions. The role will involve working with children, young people and their families and as such, the name ‘Family Assistant’ is a working title as the breadth of the role and the relationships the candidate will develop will be with individuals living alone as well as families.

As a Administration and Community Engagement Assistant at Grosvenor Hart Homes, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the GHH team with general office administration (e.g. monitoring company email inboxes, data entry, processing invoices, setting up meeting rooms, travel and hotel bookings, answering the door and phone).
  • Be the first point of contact to tenants and GHH visitors in person and on the phone.
  • Work with GHH tenants and the GHH team to develop and deliver activities and volunteering opportunities benefiting individuals and the community. This will include booking venues, organising catering and running activities and events etc.
  • Maximising and tracking tenant engagement in community events and services.
  • Adhere to the policies and process of GHH, taking an active role in the safeguarding of where appropriate.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, taking responsibility for own work and escalating any concerns.
  • This role will require you to work flexibly to accommodate the needs of our customers. Whist this will mainly be during office hours, there will be occasional evenings and weekends as required.

Essential

  • Great organisational skills.
  • Friendly and welcoming with excellent interpersonal skills, able to easily build rapport and trusted relationships easily.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy and a desire to help.
  • A good and clear both written and verbal communicator.
  • Reliable with strong work ethic and can-do attitude.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities and events, considering elements such as location, budgets, getting what is needed, getting people there, managing communications.
  • IT literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail and dedication to providing quality, error free work.
  • Professionalism, discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Commitment to make a positive difference to the lives of others and ability to work well with different types of individuals.

Desirable

  • Experience of working with young people and /or people who are identified as vulnerable or as having complex needs, with awareness of safeguarding.
  • Experience of working with community groups and supervising volunteers.
  • Knowledge of Asset Based Community Development.
  • Knowledge or experience of the social housing sector.

Additional information

  • You will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.
  • A full driver’s licence and access to a car would be desirable.
  • This post will be required to work with vulnerable people and will require an enhanced DBS check.
