ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking an energetic Administration Assistant to join our Stantec office in Canberra . This opportunity will see you supporting our Community Development business unit, with the focus on office administration.
If you like meeting and supporting people, being challenged with a varied and everchanging workload, have a can-do attitude and enjoy being part of a small team at the central hub of the office culture, we’d like to hear from you!
This role will suit someone who enjoys working in a professional engineering consultancy and wishes to work 2-3 days a week with flexible hours.

DAY TO DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

  • Provide administrative support and undertake general reception duties.
  • Manage telephone, mail, email correspondence and calendars.
  • Day to day office administration including but not limited to accounts payable approval and processing, electronic vendor maintenance and client management.
  • Organising local office social and work events.
  • Assist with Travel arrangements.
  • Assistance in cleaning and tidying the office, kitchen and reception.
  • Manage in house calendars and meeting rooms.
  • Coordinate use, servicing and management of fleet cars.
  • Maintaining office and building facilities.
  • Package and dispatch all outgoing mail and parcels.
  • Assist with new starter inductions
  • Archiving of documentation in line with the Stantec Quality System
  • Other ad hoc office duties as directed by the Office Manager

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Professional presentation and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated experience within a Reception or Office administration or technical administration role.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in an administration role.
  • Team player, willing to learn and enjoys working with people.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Be able to effectively use Microsoft Suite applications (MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook)
