Administration Officer - Emergency & Trauma Centre

About the role
The purpose of this role is to provide a highly efficient administrative support service to the Emergency & Trauma Centre (ETC) medical staff and patients with a high level of customer service by demonstrating empathy, respect, teamwork and compassion. This is a continuous shift worker position that will be required to work across a 24/7 roster within ETC.
About you

This successful applicant will carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health’s values:

• Ensure patients and others are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.
• Attend to presenting patients, family members, the general public, Queensland Police Service and Queensland Ambulance Service by directing them to appropriate treatment or assistance.
• Perform a support role to medical and nursing staff within the department by assisting with preparing and completing a range of administrative duties.
• Conduct patient interviews to verify information and financial details to complete the Patient Election Form (PEF) process.
• Consult with patients to obtain correct details for completion of admissions and record information accurately into the hospital information systems.
• Assist with patient transfers and discharges by timely coordinating all required paperwork, transport, and updating hospital information systems.
