    We are currently looking for a full time permanent Administration Officer to provide administrative support, respond to telephone and email enquiries, and manage correspondence for our Trust Account team.

The Society leads the regulation of trust accounts for approximately 4,800 law practices in NSW, with over $7 billion held in trust. It is fundamental to the protection of consumers, and the reputation of the legal profession, that solicitors comply with their legal obligations in handling trust money (Trust Obligations).

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will provide administrative support to the Trust Accounting Team. You will respond to telephone and email enquiries, manage correspondence and ensure law practice trust records are kept up to date on our internal databases.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Provide administrative support to the Trust team including management of team meetings, managing office supply requests and liaising with building management to escalate any reported office issues.
  • Receive telephone calls on our dedicated phoneline, answer (email and telephone) enquiries of a general nature in respect of appointment/termination of External Examiners, open and close trust bank accounts and trust account authorised signatories. Liaise within the team to ensure all trust enquiries are actioned within agreed timeframes.
  • Management of trust correspondence including sending and receiving regular and ad hoc emails/letters, filing of correspondence and preparing status reports of outstanding actions from correspondence.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly trust performance reports. Preparation of other ad hoc reports to review and validate in our internal databases.
  • Maintain file notes/correspondence registers when notifications are received.
