Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

Admin Support/Receptionist role to support Mr Ishtiaq based at UPMC Whitfield Hospital, Waterford.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Admin Support/Receptionist would be responsible for supporting Senior Medical Secretary in the following tasks:

  • To meet and greet patients courteously, especially on clinic days. and deal with their queries as they arise in an efficient manner.
  • To deal with phone calls, emails and referral letters from GP’s.
  • To contact patients regarding appointment times and fees to be paid.
  • To gather and scan information from other hospitals as required by consultants, such as scans, histology reports, pathology reports, etc.
  • To handle cash payments for the consultants and ensure same is entered on the Consultant’s Practice software system and balanced daily.
  • To liaise with and maintain an excellent working relationship with other members of the hospital multi-disciplinary team thus ensuring that the high level of patient service is always maintained.
