JOB SUMMARY
The Administrative Assistant provides reception services and administrative support for the agency. The Administrative Assistant will bring a high level of flexibility and enthusiasm to a position containing a wide variety of tasks and challenges. As well, the Administrative Assistant will demonstrate a level of experience that will allow them to act with a high degree of tact in dealing with the public, staff, and community partners. The Administrative Assistant will need to be able to deal effectively, pleasantly, and calmly under pressure and in emergency situations. The ability to handle cash will also be required. The Administrative Assistant will value all people and their diversity and will demonstrate this in providing service in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner. Further, the Administrative Assistant will maintain harmonious working relationships with all personnel and will display a non-adversarial, non-confrontational, and cooperative approach in the completion of all tasks and in providing front-line Reception services.
Responsibilities:
Archway’s Administrative Assistant with Central Support contributes by:
- Greeting clients and directing them to the appropriate people or program.
- Providing information about our 90+ programs and organizations in the community.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, e-mails, deliveries, and other documents.
- Creating photo ID tags for staff, contractors, volunteers, and practicum students.
- Providing administrative support for a wide variety of tasks and challenges.
This position is a great fit for someone who has experience in administration, strong communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and respectful in heightened or crisis situations.
