Description:
The Opportunity:
Student Success and Well-Being – UCF Connect is now accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant I. If you enjoy working with students, this position is for you! This is an on campus, entry level position which includes support for prospective and current UCF students, as well as administrative/office support functions for staff, faculty, and academic programs located at the UCF Connect Valencia West Center. This position will create and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including transfer-sending institutions, state college partners, and transfer students.
This position/classification may be moved at management’s discretion within the SSWB division to a commensurate level position as determined by the Vice President of Student Success and Well-Being or his/her designee.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as a Connect Specialist for UCF Connect Transfer Center and is the initial contact person for prospective students.
- Answers phone calls, assists walk-in inquiries, receives and logs student documents, and responds to students and visitors with general questions.
- Assesses, advances, and motivates students to schedule an appointment with an academic success coach and schedules the initial student appointment.
- Uses the standardized contact strategy/communication plan and documents/tracks contacts using the identified software platform and additional mechanisms.
- Shares information with students that assists them in their preparation for meeting with a success coach.
- Maintains professional discretion and confidentiality related to student records and other information.
- Provides administrative and clerical support to the UCF Connect Center.
- Assists with operations and events, which may include preparation of meetings and other relevant functions or events, organizing and participating in recruitment outreach and activities, as well as campus/faculty-related events (e.g., phone calls, e-mails, classroom visits, information tables, Open Houses, Degree Expos, Welcome Back events and other campus/community events.)
- Duties may include scheduling meetings and appointments for staff and faculty, making copies, distributing mail, collecting and organizing statistical data, assisting with room schedules for classes/meetings/events and facilitating room changes, assisting with staff and student ID’s, budgeting and purchasing, automotive and facility maintenance, office supplies and other related expenditure forms, maintaining bulletin boards/workrooms/office suite, dissemination of updated UCF marketing materials.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.

Preferred Qualifications:
- High level of customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and develop effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills with high level of attention to detail; ability to work under pressure in high-traffic environment with deadlines, goals and time limitations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a multi-lingual environment a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of SalesForce, EAB, PeopleSoft and Teams a plus.
