Description:
JOB SUMMARY
To provide varied administrative support for College of Education (COEd) Shared Services that includes Teacher & Administrator Preparation and the Higher Education Adult Learning and Organizational Studies departments. Responsible for a variety of administrative duties in COEd Shared Services requiring moderate exercise of independent judgment, initiative, and ability to make decisions relative to office operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School graduation, or equivalent, with five (5) years of upper-level administrative experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of upper-level administrative experience.
- Experience working in educational environments, preferably in higher education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Skilled with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Responsibilities:
- Submits travel requests, submits expense, and non-travel expense reimbursements, make purchases for faculty and the department including office supplies.
- Reconciles procurement card statements, submits purchase orders, processes invoices.
- Provide support to College of Education faculty, including, but not limited to, document processing and management, reserving rooms, key requests, updating department bulletin boards, faculty office hours, and general copying and scanning.
- Assist with coordinating and managing events, including departmental meetings, department orientation, and program events.
- Types correspondence for publication, letters, forms, exams, course syllabi, and other departmental workflow.
- Assists in the preparation of hiring documents, employee files, and clearance paperwork for faculty, staff, and student workers.
- Contact for students and guests.
- Answer phones.
- Distribute department mail, update department rosters and contact lists.
- Interact with other academic units to provide materials and respond to questions.
- Other duties as assigned.
