DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate administrative professional to join our Business Information Technology Programs department. This position provides administrative support for the Associate Dean of Business Information Technology Programs, its instructional team and students. These duties and responsibilities often require strong critical thinking skills and involve varying degrees of complexity and confidentiality.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills – oral, written, and listening.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to work processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with computer software applications such as MS Word and Excel

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma
  • 2-4 years of general office experience
  • Higher education experience preferred
  • Associates degree or higher preferred

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide ongoing administrative support to the Associate Dean and the department to ensure efficient office operations i.e. developing and using established processes to create and maintain records and reports, and arranging travel.
  • Provide support for the day-to-day activities related to the financial responsibility of the department: re: budget, expense reports, purchasing, etc.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of on and off-campus meetings, events and/or workshops including scheduling, ensuring room set-up, availability of supplies, recording minutes, etc.
  • Provide reception support i.e. answer telephone calls, greet and interact with the public, students, faculty, and staff.
  • Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. Provide back-up support services, as required.
  • Support College managers in quality and process improvement activities.
  • Participate in, and contribute to, assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level.
