Description:

Provides confidential administrative support to the Director of Mental Wellness and Substance Use &
Addictions/Recovery. This position involves preparation of confidential documents including but not limited to non-
routine correspondence, memoranda, letters, reports and more. This position involves being highly organized, flexible,
with good communication and people skills. This position may involve receiving visitors, screening calls, reviewing
incoming correspondence. In addition, is responsible for arranging meetings, preparation of meeting materials and
minute taking, arranging travel plans and submitting expense claims. Functions as part of a collaborative multi-
disciplinary team, and will contribute to a psychologically safe, healing-centred workplace culture. Performs a variety of
administrative, and general duties of a responsible and confidential nature requiring knowledge of regional policy and
procedures, evidence based and wise practices, as well as health programs and clinical issues. Shows exemplary
customer service and the flexibility to deal with fluctuation workload demands and schedules.
The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry check, and
Adult Abuse Registry check and adhere to all Northern Health Region policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of post-secondary education in office administration through a business school or college (combinations

of education and experience may be considered)

  • Valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, and willingness to travel the region year-round
  • Accurate word processing at 50 words per minute (typing test will be required)
  • Two (2) years’ experience in directly related position preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Basic computer problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of Health Promotion and Mental Health Promotion initiatives
  • Excellent virtual meeting skills (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.)
  • Knowledge and respect of Indigenous cultures, essential
  • Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment
  • Satisfactory employment record required
  • Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
