Brief Description
Provides direct organizational support to an elected official and accounts for the coordination of office procedures and personnel to ensure the most cost effective and efficient method of operation. Represents the Commissioner at meetings and assists constituents and participates in special projects. Prepares reports, letters, documents, and speeches for the Commissioner.
Detailed Description
Researches and collects data; participates in a variety of special projects; compiles, analyzes, and presents information to the Commissioner for review. Attends meetings and prepares comprehensive reports for the Commissioner, informs Commissioner on negative political situations and/or further research required Attends board and committee meetings for the Commissioner. Assists with budget preparation and monitoring. Assists constituents with the resolution of problems, which may require obtaining information from various agencies. Provides lead support to other support staff by distributing work assignments and assisting with daily assignments. Maintains confidential files, and answers calls and inquires. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education, Experience and Training: Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor degree in Business or in a job related field of study. One (1) year of work related experience in a professional administrative capacity. Special Requirements/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Skilled in the use of standard software applications. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public. Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting concepts. Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standard office environment. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking and ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted.
