Description:

We are a rapidly expanding medium sized construction company that deals in all facets of construction including reclamation, landscaping, and snow removal. We are seeking to fill the role of Administrative Assistant at our Nisku office. This position requires entry level bookkeeping skills, including bi-weekly payroll and general office administration. You would work closely with the office manager to accurately record all AR, AP, payroll as well as manage general administrative duties. Sage 100 Contractor experience would be considered an asset however is not required.
We are looking for a positive and energetic person who is detail orientated and able to prioritize completing tasks. As this is a small but busy department, we need someone willing to take the initiative and work independently as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience with entering AR and AP required
  • Detail oriented and able to manage several responsibilities effectively
  • Experience in job costing considered and asset
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, Excel, Adobe and Gmail/Google Drive
  • Strong problem-solving, task management and communication skills
  • Construction background considered an asset
  • Payroll Compliance Certification considered an asset

Education:

  • Secondary School (required

Experience:

  • Bookkeeping: 2 years (required)
  • Sage 100 Contractor: 2 year

Responsibilities:

  • Inputting and processing payables and receivables accurately
  • Monitor multiple vendor accounts
  • Payroll for up to 50 employees
  • Assist with filing and remit ROE’s
  • Assist with WCB annual returns
  • Assist with year end document preparation for the accountant
  • Administration of general office duties; including safety and human resource documentation
  • General filing and uploading of documents as required
