Administrative Assistant – North York, ON
Location: Remote – Available to attend in person meetings when required
Experience working within or as:
- Medical Office / Administrative Support in a health care or disability management organization. Experience in working with individuals with Substance Use and Mental Health Disorders an asset
As an Administrative Assistant with the Nurses’ Health Program, you will be a key member of our disability management team providing administrative support to our case managers and telephonic coordination, information and support to the nurse participants who utilize our services.
Key aspects of this role include:
- Providing administrative support to the NHP Case Managers
- Working in partnership with the other administrative team member to provide back-up and complete assigned tasks
- Providing information to individuals interested in learning about the NHP Program and coordinating intake assessments with the NHP case managers
- Arranging / Coordinating independent medical examinations as directed by the NHP Case Manager
- Taking meeting minutes at meeting including our Clinical Advisory Panel weekly meetings
- Arranging appointment times with our Medical Director and community healthcare providers
- Maintaining regular contact with participants and their healthcare providers (i.e. sending out quarterly reports, consent forms, etc…)
- Managing and responding to information requests
- Monthly invoicing
- Reporting
- Other duties as assigned
Key requirements:
- Previous experiencing working in a team environment in health care and/or in disability management
- Medical terminology certification an asset
- Minimum of 2 years experience administrative experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Advanced Microsoft Excel certification
- Minimum 60 WPM
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently
- Must be a resident of Ontario
- Remote based opportunity – Must have a designated secured home office
- Work hours: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday EST
- Salary rang $39,000 to $43,000 per year
- Bilingual – French and English an asset
- Disability Case Management experience an asset
