Description:

The Hopewell Power Station is a biomass facility situated in Hopewell, VA, with a capacity of 51 MW. It employs biomass-fired power generation technology to produce electricity, which is sold to Dominion. Additionally, the facility processes steam for sale. By utilizing biomass as a fuel source, the Hopewell Power Station plays a crucial role in reducing dependence on fossil fuels while contributing to the generation of renewable energy.

OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

The Administrative Assistant is tasked with overseeing the operation and maintenance of wood scale software, ensuring accurate data entry and smooth functionality. This role serves as the primary liaison for fuel truck drivers and vendors, coordinating deliveries, processing, and reconciling fuel weigh bills, and maintaining essential vendor records. Additionally, the position involves managing inventory calculations, supporting accounts payable functions, and handling routine correspondence while safeguarding sensitive information.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, demonstrating foundational education and the ability to perform essential administrative tasks.
  • Experience in general office operations is necessary, including managing daily tasks, organizing documents, and coordinating communications.
  • A solid understanding of general accounting principles is highly desirable for managing financial records and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in accounts payable processes is essential, including invoice handling, payment processing, and vendor coordination.
  • Proficiency in using a 10-key by touch and typing 45 words per minute is required for efficient data entry and documentation.
  • Experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications is required for creating, formatting, and managing documents and spreadsheets.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial for effective interaction with team members, vendors, and management.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Drivers License at all times.
