Description:

Title: High School Administrative Assistant
Reports To/Evaluated by: High School Principal
Education: High school diploma or its equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Terms of Employment: 12-month position
Hourly salary per negotiated agreement
General Responsibilities: Under the direction of the High School Principal, the High School Administrative Assistant performs a variety of specialized and complex administrative support duties including coordinating assigned school office activities requiring independent judgment and knowledge of school policies, procedures and regulations. The High School Administrative Assistant serves as the primary assistant to the High School Principal, relieving the principal of routine administrative detail. The Administrative Assistant performs public relations and communications services for the principal and assists in ensuring smooth and efficient office operations. The Administrative Assistant must have a working knowledge of and practical experience using computers and computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.
The qualified individual must be an evangelical Christian committed to living a Biblical lifestyle. He/she is expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness while performing his or her day-to-day duties. He/she must be devoted to prayerfully work with administration, other faculty, staff, students and parents.

Section 2 – Required Spiritual Development

  • Is a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6:40).
  • Regularly attends a local, evangelical church, which has a Statement of Faith in harmony with the Providence Academy Statement of Faith.
  • Reflects the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
  • Maintains a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, and good taste, and that is in agreement with any applicable school policies.

Section 3 – Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinates a variety of activities to relieve the principal of routine administrative details.
  • Work directly with the principal to carry out school policies, planning, and procedures.
  • Assist in ensuring smooth and efficient office operations.
  • Monitor student attendance and assist with tracking tardiness and absences by preparing and sharing reports with the appropriate departments and administrators.
  • Perform general clerical duties including typing, filing, copying, and scanning documents
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating school events, meetings and activities, including preparing agendas, scheduling appointments, and arranging facilities.
  • Assist with data entry and database management tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Coordinate coverage for faculty absences as needed; print class rosters and lesson plans; report substitute coverage on the Daily Communication document.
  • Oversee Canvas login credentials and communication with families.
  • Prepare grade reports and communicate information pertaining to grades with the appropriate departments and administration.
  • Assist with reviewing, correcting, and sending progress reports and report cards.
  • Act as a point of contact for teacher needs: workroom supplies, copier needs, and general questions.

Section 4 – Professional Conduct

  • Cooperates with administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school and classroom.
  • Presents a positive role model for students that support the mission of the school.
  • Knows the procedure for dealing with an emergency issue and mandated reporting,
  • Informs the administration, in a timely manner, if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.
  • Participates in-service opportunities, workshops and other professional development sessions.
  • Utilizes the evaluation processes for professional growth.
  • Performs other reasonable duties that may be assigned by the administration.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.50 per hour
