JOB DESCRIPTION

Division: Engineering Services
Department: Growth and Infrastructure
Initial Reporting Location: Tom Davies Square
Job Status: Contract Position
Estimated Probable Duration: Up to One (1) Year
Affiliation: Non union
Hours of Work: 70 hours bi-weekly
Shift Work Required: n/a
Range of Pay: Group 9* - $2,574.60 to $3,033.10 bi-weekly

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
  • Administrative Assistant Diploma from a Community College would be considered an asset.
  • Additional educational initiatives to update and expand competencies.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least four (4) years of responsible related experience.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Highly competent in typing, taking dictation and transcription; demonstrate and proven ability related to microcomputer software and administrative systems (i.e. file maintenance, word processing, spreadsheet applications, presentation software, information input and retrieval).

ABILITIES TO:

  • Demonstrate organizational and supervisory ability.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills dealing with public, staff, Councillors, outside groups and agencies.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • May require the use of a personal or CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s licence, have an acceptable driving record, and personal insurance coverage.
    This job is also being posted as a development opportunity. Should there be no fully qualified candidate for this position, a candidate who can be expected to meet the required qualifications within a reasonable period of time may be considered for this position as a development opportunity.
    Development opportunity range of pay: $2,344.30 to $2,759.40 bi-weekly. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
