Description:

DESCRIPTION: Administrative Assistant will provide administrative, data entry, and backup support for Red Wolf Childcare staff. He/She must understand the planning, organization, and management of the educational approach and strategies for the Red Wolf Childcare Center by interacting with the staff members to understand the teaching procedures, progress of the children, and changes to be made for further progress. The Administrative Assistant must be highly responsible and should have the ability to prioritize work. He/She is responsible for ensuring that the rules and policies of the center are followed properly and will collaborate with the administration to ensure childcare budgets are appropriate for the center’s education programs and childcare staff. Administer everyday operations in coordination with the Childcare Center director and provide or schedule training for all childcare personnel.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year in a janitorial setting.
  • Ability to lift objects over 70Ib.
  • Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending.
  • Able to work after hours if required.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Two years of administrative experience with a variety of office responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing and recruiting new staff.
  • Training the newly recruited candidates and allocating them work.
  • Implementing various education programs.
  • Understanding the necessities of the center and equipping them accordingly.
  • Order and stock general office supplies, childcare brochures and resources: maintain a supply inventory.
  • Implementing the Center curriculum.
  • Ensuring that the rules and policies of the organization are followed properly.
  • Attending the administrative meetings.
  • Interacting with the Caregivers regularly to understand the progress and necessary requirements.
  • Follow up with caregivers about need/concerns.
  • Prepare monthly reports and submit them in a timely manner.
  • Assist with monthly teacher and provider documentation for childcare billing and payments.
  • Prepare parent packets for enrolled/newly enrolled parents.
  • Assist with communication with waiting list families by phone and/or email.
  • Assist with staff evaluations.
  • Coordinate creation of bimonthly family newsletter.
  • Maintain and organize center files.
  • Perform various other administrative tasks including copying, faxing, printing, etc.
  • Assist classroom caregivers with occasional classroom coverage.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by agency leadership.
