About the role
We are seeking to appoint an Administrative Coordinator within the Centres and Institute Team. The post holder will work closely with the Centres and Institutes Manager and Research Centre Directors to support the day-to-day operations of the research centres and a variety of research activities.
The role holder will be responsible for the centres’ day to day administration, financial processing and reporting, external engagement duties to include processing web update requests, online event listings and coordinating the Centres’ mailing list communications. The role will also include some events organisation, including staff meetings, internal workshops and public event series. Due to the nature of events, some weekend and evening work may be required.
The role would be suitable for someone who is looking to support a broad variety of activities, with excellent organisation skills, the ability to prioritise and work under pressure, who enjoys working as part of a team as well as independently.
This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract
About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • First degree or equivalent experience
  • Substantial administrative experience within an academic or legal environment
  • Excellent IT skills to include Microsoft 365, database management and other specialist HE applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, with experience working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Substantial experience in financial processing, managing budgets and reporting on financial spend
  • Strong understanding of GDPR policy and data management
  • Ability to manage workload and balance competing priorities
  • Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of project or event planning and delivery
  • Knowledge of and skill in composing and managing web content, within a content management system and/or use of HTML
  • Experience in HR processes to include Right to Work checks
  • Some understanding of contract management and experience in procurement activity
