EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
Bachelor’s degree. Two years of relevant administrative assistant experience. Experience in Higher Education preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

NATURE & PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs administrative support duties for the Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine by coordinating and providing administrative support for all activities in Medical Student Affairs and specific support for designated programs in the Division of Educational Affairs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs administrative support duties for the Office of Medical Student Affairs (MSA). Oversees support and logistics for all Medical Student Affairs programs at Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and specific support for designated programs in the Division of Educational Affairs. Coordinates administrative activities and services related to MSA office procedures, special analysis, project summaries and/or compliance functions. Involved in programmatic elements in the office which require development and distribution of materials. Maintains accurate records, schedules, and support for the office. Manages and reconciles Student Doctor travel arrangements and reporting. Answers phones, maintains calendars, and performs general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, mailing, and filing for supervisor and staff members. Schedules meetings and notifies participants of locations. Serves as a staff support to committees as needed. Compiles materials, prepares/provides agendas, records and distributes minutes for meetings. Provides administrative support for specialized activities and projects. Ensures the confidentiality of mail, correspondence and reports. Coordinates and provides logistical support for medical student event set-ups, meetings, or other special functions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
