Description:
INTRODUCTION
This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Human Resource Services. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.
PART-TIME; Salary will be prorated to hours worked per week
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Responsibilities:
The Department of Natural Resources - Human Resource Services is seeking an Administrative Officer III to serve as an HR Generalist. The incumbent will provide administrative and clerical support to the Organizational Development and Recruitment and Staffing units.
The Organizational Development Unit is a results driven unit focused on the health and development of DNR and the workforce. They provide customized training solutions to meet the needs of the agency while building stronger relationships and connections between employees and the agency. Job duties will include:
- Research requested training topics for various leadership programs
- Assist in maintaining training records for DNR employees
- Marketing and advertising upcoming training opportunities
- With supervision design and develop short training sessions for DNR employees
- Assist with converting/transferring training to our Learning Management System
The Recruitment and Staffing Unit attracts and matches qualified candidates to the needs of DNR units, while providing administrative support for personnel changes. Job duties will include:
- Assist the Recruitment Event Coordinator with outreach and engagement activities
- Create recruitment announcements
- Review applications and support interview process
- Process personnel changes including but not limited to hires, separations, compensation changes,
This position requires that the incumbent maintain confidentiality regarding the status of all applications, eligible list placement, testing material and all personal employee and applicant information with which the incumbent comes into contact on a daily basis.
