Qualifications:
Essential:
- Experience working in a general office environment performing routine secretarial and clerical duties, including maintaining filing systems, managing electronic calendars to schedule and coordinate meetings
- Experience working in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) or equivalent software applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with departmental staff, external agencies, other professionals, and the general public
- Strong written communication skills with experience preparing general correspondence including editing and formatting.
- Strong verbal communication skills including experience dealing effectively with the public in person and over the phone
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to handle sensitive material in a confidential and professional manner.
- Strong time management and organizational skills
Duties:
Reporting to the Westman Regional Manager, the incumbent is responsible for providing general administrative and clerical support to Workplace Safety and Health in Brandon.This includes database entries, document development, and formatting; ordering supplies and processing mail,, taking minutes, scheduling appointments, filing, archiving, directing walk-ins, answering phones and emails, and drafting basic correspondence within the incumbent’s scope of knowledge.
